According to the 2023 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) announcement by the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Bac Giang province ranks 4th in the top 30 provinces and cities with the best governance quality in 2023.

Bac Giang province scores 69.75 points on a 100-point scale, ranking 4th after Quang Ninh province (71.25 points), Long An (70.94 points) and Hai Phong city (70.34).

Through analyzing 10 PCI component indexes, Bac Giang has the highest score in the legal institutions and security and order index with 7.90 points. There are 3 increasing indexes being Market entry (7.05 points), time costs (7.71 points), and business support policies (7.24 points).

It is known that to achieve the above results, in 2023, Bac Giang province focused on drastically directing and synchronously implementing many solutions to improve the investment and business environment; administrative reform; regularly dialogued and listened to feedback from people and businesses to promptly resolve difficulties and problems, etc.

The report is based on the results of an investigation of more than 10,000 businesses across the country. As usual, the PCI and PGI 2023 report announced the rankings of top localities in terms of economic management quality according to business assessments. This is a vivid picture of Vietnam's business environment in the past year; highly appreciated reforms by businesses, and the difficulties businesses are facing from the perspective of domestic and foreign investors.

In particular, this year's report conveys businesses' assessments of local governments' efforts in managing and protecting the environment and promoting green investment and practices of local businesses; thereby, recommending localities to promote green growth and sustainable development.

It is known that this is the 19th consecutive year that VCCI has published a set of evaluation and ranking indexes on the quality of economic management, the level of convenience and friendliness of the business environment and the administrative reform efforts of authorities of provinces and cities in Vietnam, thereby promoting the development of the private economic sector. And this is the second consecutive year that the Provincial Green Index has been announced./.
