At the reception, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le O Pich expressed his pleasure to welcome Secretary of the Party Committee of Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture (China) Chen Ming and the delegation of Yunnan province to visit and work in Bac Giang province.

Mr. Le O Pich provided general information about the natural conditions, potential, advantages and socio-economic development of Bac Giang province. He said that in recent years, Bac Giang had been interested in attracting FDI investment. Up to now, there were 30 countries and territories with investment projects in the province, including businesses and investors of China.

In 2023, the province attracted the fourth largest FDI in the country with over 3 billion USD. The whole province had over 235 projects of Chinese enterprises (including Hong Kong and Taiwan) investing in the area with a total registered capital of over 5 billion USD.

With this result, China was currently the first country in terms of total registered capital among the 30 countries and territories investing in Bac Giang, and second in the number of investment projects in the province, with many different investment fields, focusing mainly on processing and manufacturing fields such as electronic component production, animal feed processing, electrical equipment production, plastic product production, apparel, etc.

Regarding trade cooperation, in recent years Bac Giang had strengthened trade cooperation and investment promotion with a number of Chinese provinces and achieved many results. In 2023, the province's import and export reached 57 billion USD, with imports and exports to China alone reaching 18.9 billion USD.

The province signed a cooperation agreement with Nanning city, Guangxi province; Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang) signed a cooperation agreement with Hekou province, Yunnan. The two localities had actively deployed and achieved many certain results, especially in promoting the consumption of agricultural products in the province, especially exporting lychees to Guangxi and Yunnan provinces.

On behalf of the leaders of Bac Giang province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le O Pich thanked China for paying attention and supporting Bac Giang province in socio-economic development, especially in consuming agricultural products and attracting Chinese investors to invest in Bac Giang province. He highly appreciated the projects of Chinese enterprises having made many contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le O Pich hoped that Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture would be a bridge to introduce Chinese businesses to Bac Giang to learn, survey, and seek investment opportunities in Bac Giang province in products electronics, computers and optical products; electrical equipment (mainly solar batteries); products from rubber and plastic; mechanical production; food production and processing, etc.

Support Bac Giang province in trade promotion activities, developing and expanding markets; promote the province's export of goods to China. Support Bac Giang province to organize a trading delegation to survey the market, advertise, support connections to promote product consumption, and participate in trade connections in China; create conditions for Bac Giang province and its businesses to participate in working sessions and business forums with Chinese partners.

Besides, continue to effectively implement the cooperation agreements signed between the People's Committee of Luc Ngan district and Hekou district, between the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang province and the Department of Trade of Yunnan province. At the same time, create conditions and support businesses of the two countries to connect business and cooperate for mutual development.

Speaking at the reception, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture (China) Chen Ming thanked Mr. Le O Pich for taking the time to receive the delegation and the feelings of Bac Giang province for China. At the same time, congratulate the development of Bac Giang province in recent years.

Sharing the socio-economic development of Yunnan province, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture Chen Ming introduced areas with potential for development and cooperation in Yunnan province.

In the coming time, Wenshan Autonomous Prefecture would continue to strengthen friendly cooperation with Bac Giang province. Promote trade and commerce exchanges through businesses of both sides to enhance the development of agricultural products and promote cooperation in the strong industries of the two sides.
