On August 15, 2004, Viettel officially entered into the telecommunications market of Bac Giang with the launch of its 178 long-distance call service (VoIP-178).

After 2 months since the launch of its 178 long-distance call service, the first BTS station with the code number BGG001 at the tower of the provincial radio station broadcasted to Viettel's mobile network nationwide.

On October 15, 2004, Viettel officially launched its mobile service in Vietnam, the fourth mobile network after Vinaphone, Mobifone and S-Fone networks.

Up to now, Viettel Bac Giang has 261 employees (with an average salary of over VND8 million/person/month) and more than 400 associates (with an average salary of VND3.5 million/month) present at all communes, wards and towns in the province.

Implementing the "Infrastructure first, business followed" strategy of Military Telecom Corporation (Viettel), Viettel Bac Giang has made great leaps in building infrastructure, installing and broadcasting BTS stations and organizing business in Bac Giang.

From 2009 up to now, Viettel Bac Giang has become the largest mobile telecommunications network in Bac Giang province in terms of network size, number of customers and revenue. Viettel brand has become close and friendly to everyone and every household including those in remote areas in the province.

In the period of 2010-2015, Viettel Bac Giang has accelerated investment in improving network quality, setting up 3G network and optical transmission network; investment in telecommunication and information technology application in the management and operation of production and business activities; improving quality of customer services, building a synchronous distribution channel from province to communes and villages; investment in developing human resources to meet the requirements in the province and ready to carry out international missions in countries where Viettel Group has been and will invest.

In 2015, Viettel Bac Giang is known as a unit with regular organization of social activities such as: “Warm Heart,” and "Heart for Children” programs; providing free Internet to schools; building teammates and houses of gratitude; providing free medicine to the poor; "Together for Community"; "For studious children" and many other social and charity programs with a total budget of nearly VND20 billion.

The impressive results in recent years have helped Viettel Bac Giang confirm the leading position in the mobile telecommunications market of Bac Giang. It has been repeatedly rewarded by the Party, the State, the Military Telecom Corporation and the Provincial People's Committee.

Promoting the results achieved, Viettel Bac Giang is determined to become a leading enterprise in the province, contributing to enable the Military Telecom Corporation to become one of the 20 largest telecommunications enterprises in the world.
